Since Trump Took Office, Tariffs Have Become His Weapon

Since Donald Trump assumed office, “tariffs” have become one of his primary tools in economic and trade policy. True to form, on April 4, his administration announced a 34% tariff increase on goods imported from China. In addition, it revoked the $800 duty-free exemption for express packages sent from mainland China and Hong Kong.
The vast majority of U.S. customers who purchase reps (replica) sneakers typically buy only one or two pairs at a time. The fastest and most affordable shipping method has long been FedEx via Hong Kong, which usually delivers within 3 to 6 days.
However, this new tariff policy significantly impacts most buyers. The good news is that there’s no need to worry until May 2, as the policy officially takes effect after that date. It’s important to note that sellers are now advising buyers to stop using FedEx by April 28 at the latest. Continuing to use FedEx—or UPS—after this deadline may result in a customs duty of $50 to $130 per package.
Some might suggest under-declaring the value of the package as a workaround. Unfortunately, this tactic has already been tested. On February 8, a package declared at just $50 in value still resulted in a $130 customs fee when shipped via UPS.
This is where USPS small packet lines begin to show their advantages. However, the downside is that the customs inspection rate for USPS shipments has reached a concerning 20–30%, causing many sellers to steer clear of this option.
what to do now?
Before May 2, you can continue to place orders—using FedEx or UPS remains the safest option for now.
After May 2, it’s recommended to purchase at least three pairs of shoes in one order, as the customs duty will be roughly the same—estimated at around $50 to $120 per package. Alternatively, you can choose the USPS special line small packet option.
The USPS special line works by having Chinese logistics providers consolidate thousands of packages and ship them together to the U.S. Once cleared through customs, the packages are handed over to the USPS for final delivery. The main advantage is affordability, but the downside is unstable delivery times and a higher risk of customs holds.
In short, please don’t worry too much, we will find the most suitable transportation channel for buyers.
