The Gallery Dept Water-Wave French Print Shirt showcases the brand’s signature fusion of vintage aesthetics and modern streetwear. Crafted from 260g 100% cotton double-yarn terry fabric, the garment is produced using a tubular knitting construction with no side seams, offering a smoother silhouette, enhanced comfort, and a more natural drape. After garment washing, the weight increases to approximately 280g, providing a thicker, more premium hand feel. The cuffs and hem are reinforced with 300g 1×1 pure-cotton stretch ribbing, ensuring durability, elasticity, and long-lasting shape retention.
The fabric is knitted using a specialized circular knitting machine, programmed to create seamless tubular panels. It is then processed with Asut garment-dyeing, forming vintage water-washed color tones with visible bone lines and washed textures. Eco-friendly dyes are used throughout the dyeing process.
A high-end potassium permanganate spray fading technique (commonly known as “monkey wash”) is applied to achieve realistic vintage gradients and soft white distressed areas. This controlled fading results in a naturally-aged appearance that matches the brand’s signature distressed aesthetic.
The graphic prints are produced using imported high-resolution digital direct-injection technology, resulting in sharp edges, precise color separation, and naturally textured finishes.
