Description

Jordan 11 Retro ‘Space Jam’ 2026

The Jordan 11 Retro ‘Space Jam’ 2026 brings back one of the most recognizable black-based colorways associated with the Air Jordan 11. Identified by style code CT8012-900, the design combines a deep black upper with Varsity Royal branding, a crisp white midsole and a translucent icy outsole.

The ‘Space Jam’ colorway is closely associated with the Jordan 11’s 1990s legacy and has become one of the defining looks of the silhouette. Its combination of ballistic mesh, glossy patent leather and contrasting sole construction gives the shoe a distinctive appearance that remains immediately recognizable from almost any angle.

Black Ballistic Mesh and Patent Leather

The upper combines black ballistic mesh with the high-gloss patent leather mudguard that defines the Air Jordan 11 silhouette.

Ballistic mesh covers much of the upper and provides a textured, matte foundation for the design. Tonal black webbing works with the lacing system, keeping the upper visually consistent while emphasizing the vertical structure of the shoe.

Wrapping around the lower portion is a wide black patent leather mudguard. Its reflective finish creates a strong material contrast against the mesh above without introducing another color.

This combination of matte textile and glossy patent leather is central to the appearance of the Space Jam Jordan 11 and gives the predominantly black upper much more visual depth than a single-material construction.

Varsity Royal Jumpman Details

Against the black upper, Varsity Royal provides the colorway’s most recognizable accent.

A blue Jumpman is embroidered around the collar, introducing a controlled flash of color while allowing the black construction to remain dominant. Additional tonal detailing keeps the overall appearance restrained, making the Varsity Royal branding stand out more clearly.

The result is a color palette that relies less on complex blocking and more on carefully placed contrast: black across the upper, royal blue branding, white through the midsole and an icy finish underneath.

White Midsole and Icy Translucent Outsole

A clean white Phylon midsole creates the strongest contrast against the black upper. Its sculpted profile follows the sweeping shape of the patent leather mudguard and visually separates the dark upper from the translucent outsole below.

Underfoot, the icy translucent rubber outsole is one of the defining features of the Space Jam design. Its semi-transparent appearance gives the bottom of the shoe a noticeably different finish from the solid black and white sections above.

Herringbone traction pods are incorporated into the outsole, while an exposed carbon fiber spring plate adds another signature Jordan 11 detail beneath the midfoot.

Together, the white midsole, translucent outsole and carbon fiber structure create the layered sole construction closely associated with the Air Jordan 11.

Full-Length Air-Sole Cushioning

Inside the midsole, full-length Air-Sole cushioning runs beneath the foot. This cushioning setup reflects the performance-oriented construction behind the original Jordan 11 while remaining part of the silhouette’s appeal as an everyday lifestyle sneaker.

The combination of Air cushioning, a Phylon midsole and carbon fiber support gives the lower portion of the shoe a more technical construction than its streamlined exterior initially suggests.

An Iconic Black Jordan 11 Colorway

What makes the Jordan 11 Retro ‘Space Jam’ distinctive is the way several contrasting materials and finishes work together within a relatively simple color palette.

Black ballistic mesh creates texture across the upper, glossy patent leather defines the lower profile, and the Varsity Royal Jumpman provides a small but recognizable color accent. Beneath the upper, the bright white midsole transitions into an icy translucent outsole with visible carbon fiber detailing.

The result is a Jordan 11 that combines the unmistakable Space Jam color scheme with some of the silhouette’s most recognizable design elements, from its patent leather mudguard to its translucent outsole and full-length Air cushioning.
